Product Review: Sweet & Sara Marshmallows

Sweet & Sara makes marshmallows! They are hard to get. The website says they will ship them, but I have not yet been able to arrange it. I got this pack from a friend who brought them on a plane from Food Fight in Portland.

Despite their elusiveness, they are delicious. They definitely fill the void left by the lack of vegan marshmallow options. They toast fairly well (though not as well as Vegan Supreme Marshmallows toasted - I guess the lack of animal products makes for less toastiness!)

So far I've tried the Vanilla and Mexican Chocolate. Both are fantastic.

If you can find them, I recommend you try them!

Vanilla Brownie Supreme Cake

Another Vegan Treats sensation! This is a double layer vanilla cake with vanilla mousse filled with fresh chunks of brownie. Yum! This picture doesn't really do it justice, but the whole cake has brownie chunks on top, too. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Shopping Trip

Today's trip garnered:
Wegman's Margarine ($1.50 for a huge tub!)
Wegman's Tofu ($1.45 per block)
Longo's Pizza crust
Pacific Soups (Tomato, Butternut Squash, Corn Chowder)
Toasted Oats ($1.89 per box)
Silk Alive Shake
Tofutti Sour Supreme (non-hydrogenated)
Tropicana OJ
Amy's Organics Breakfast Burritos
Tofurkey Hickory Smoked Turkey Slices
Rubbermaid Sandwich-sized storage containers

I love how inexpensive some of Wegman's items are!

Our Posh Pad

I've been complaining that our living room is unused and not very welcoming for a while now. In an attempt to warm it up, Gian and a friend re-wired the outlets and hung the TV (that used to be relegated to the third floor for video gaming) up on the wall. All of the wires are hidden and the components (DVD, X-Box, Cable Box, etc) are all hidden around the corner behind a wall. So tricky!

We've certainly been hanging out there much more, but now I think we need to get a new, more comfortably couch.

Things to notice in the background:
Lower right corner the hole in the wall that George chewed the first day he lived with us
Under the table My record boxes, Gian's records are upstairs (he has slightly more records than me!)
On the table An orhcid my mother-in-law got us for our anniversary - it's still alive after a few months, my fingers remain crossed! An aloe plant my grandmother gave me.
On the TV CNN? I don't think we ever watch CNN, we're NPR folk. We usually watch the History Channel downstairs.
Coming from the TV... No wires!!

Beta Blues

Apparently I can't upgrade to Beta yet. This is annoying because I can't comment on many blogs and apparently people can't comment on my blog either. Frustrating.

My "Pantry"

I have a secret vegan stash at work in one of my desk cabinets. Here's what's in it:
Very Vanilla Silk (single serve)
Chocolate Silk (single serve)
Butternut Squash Soup (also single serve in an aeseptic container)
Split Pea Soup (in a 'cup')
My chili pepper mug given to me by one of my favorite students
Organic Whole Wheat Crackers (10 snack packs)
Fruit and Nut Trail Mix bars
Dulce de Leche Luna Bars (1 box)
There's also a box of not-vegan chocolate that someone gave me, I'm waiting for the perfect opportunity to re-gift it.

I also have some oatmeal stashed away in another cabinet. Yum.

My snazzy new, non-leather briefcase!

I found it at Marshall's. Obviously it's pleather...It has a very roomy main compartment that fits files and all the rest of my crap and it also has a cell phone pocket, a pen pocket, and a zipped pocket.
All my crap!
